The Millstätter See - Bad Kleinkirchheim – Nockberge region with its picturesque lake and mountain landscape boasts more than 700 km of signposted cycle paths and routes as well as numerous e-bike charging and hire stations. The 28 km long cycle route that leads around Lake Millstatt in a network of bike and mountain bike trails takes you to the prime lakeside locations, turning your holiday into a truly unforgettable experience. There are opportunities to stop and take a dip in the up to 27° C warm water at many bays. A gentle tailwind accompanies you on this stage of the Carinthian Lake Loop past Lake Afritzer See and Lake Brennsee towards the garnet town of Radenthein, where everything revolves around the ruby gemstone. At Restaurant Metzgerwirt and the Kaslab’n you will find visual recreations and culinary interpretations of the garnet stone, such as garnet praline and garnet ham. The garnet beer at private brewery Shilling is not to be missed either. The cycle path continues in the direction of Lake Millstatt. The Lake Millstatt Cycling Trail runs 12 km along the northern shore through the towns of Dellach, Pesenthein, Millstatt and Seeboden, with fresh "Reinanken" whitefish from the lake and tasty organic hay milk cheese served on the many lakeside terraces along the way. Having arrived on the western shore, you cross Lieserschlucht gorge to Spittal an der Drau, a town that sees culture, trade, traffic and history come together around Porcia Castle. Here you follow the Drau Cycle Path for a few kilometres downstream.
