The medicinal sulphur springs are well known far beyond the region itself – coupled with the healthy air, the town enjoys a good reputation as a spa and rehabilitation location. The water has a healing effect above all for diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
In both summer and winter, sports and nature lovers get their money’s worth on the Klippitztörl. During the warm season they are delighted by the hiking trails, summer tobogganing run and adventure climbing garden; and in winter skiers and snowboarders enjoy the well prepared pistes, while snowshoe hikers feel good off-piste.
Fine food and enjoyment are nurtured in Bad St. Leonhard. Every year in summer the main square becomes a centre for food lovers: during the Gourmet Festival there are four days of the finest food, many musical highlights and an exciting programme for children.
