Keutschach

The region is not only ideal for summer pleasures such as swimming, cycling and hiking, but also suitable for taking a trip back into the past: in Lake Keutschacher See there are prehistoric pile dwellings dating from the Neolithic.

The most distinctive point in the municipality of Keutschach is the Pyramidenkogel viewing tower. The world’s highest wooden viewing tower at almost 100 metres enables a wonderful 360-degree view over Carinthia’s mountain and lake landscape. And if you want, you can hurtle down again via the covered slide.

In the pre-Christmas period an atmospheric Advent market with artisans and music groups is held at the foot of the viewing tower, with the slogan “Advent above the clouds”.
