Nature was in a good mood when she created Poggersdorf – the municipality is characterised by wide green spaces and wooded knolls.
The Celtic well in Wabelsdorf, which was uncovered in 1930, is worth seeing. Another particular feature of the municipality is the Pagoda of the Light of the Dhamma, which was constructed in 1992 in the St. Michael district and belongs to the International Meditation Centre Austria.
The Gurk Rain power station near Poggersdorf also once provided illumination. The power generated there enabled the first electric light bulb to give off light in 1902 in nearby Klagenfurt.
