Treffen am Ossiacher See

The two hiking mountains, the Gerlitzen and Verditz, are in the immediate vicinity, and with Lake Ossiacher See there are plenty of opportunities for swimming and water sports.

In winter skiers and snowboarders romp on the Gerlitzen, and nature lovers in snowshoes head to the Verditz.

The three easily accessible Finsterbach waterfalls in Sattendorf are regarded as an insiders’ tip. They are a true place of power, and offer magic moments in nature.

The Krastal marble quarry is also worth a visit. The unique natural backdrop is regularly used in summer for theatre performances. The Krastal is also the venue for sculptor symposiums, and is one of the largest open-air galleries for stone sculptures in the whole of Europe.

Other tips for outings in the municipality include the Elli Riehl Doll Museum in Winklern, the Mushroom Museum in Treffen and the Mountain and Alp Museum at the Pöllinger Hütte.
