The Lesach Valley attracts mountain climbers in particular with its perfect infrastructure: 300 kilometres of marked hiking trails range from an easy stroll or walks through the alpine meadows to spectacular summit and climbing tours in the Carnic Alps, the Lienz Dolomites and the Gailtal Alps. The Lesach Valley has more mountain guides in relation to its population than anywhere else in the world.
The world’s first Slow Food Travel Region is in Carinthia, high up on the mountains and in the picturesque villages of the Gail and Lesach Valleys.
